1/2Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4tsp Salt
1/4tspPepper
3Cups Chicken Broth*
3/4Cup Milk Dairy or Non-Dairy
212.5 Oz CansChicken
3Cups Water
1 1/2 Cups Rice
Instructions
In a medium sauce pan bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Sprinkle in some salt to flavor the water and add in the 1 1/2 cups of rice. reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 mins (or use a rice cooker)
In your sauté pan melt the butter. while butter is melting dice onion and add it to the pan. Cook onions until translucent. Add in the flour, and cook for another 1-2 mins. Make a roux
Slowly whisk in the chicken broth and milk making sure the flour dissolves and gravy is smooth. Once all the flour has been dissolved mix in the cooked shredded chicken. Season with salt and pepper. turn down to low to keep warm.
Prep the toppings: Wash and dice vegetables, Open cans and drain the liquid, shred the cheese (If needed) and open almonds and and rice noodles.
Fluff the Rice. and scoop rice onto a plate or a bowl. Top rice with chicken gravy, and favorite toppings. Enjoy!
