Classic Homemade Meatloaf with Sweet a Glaze
This classic homemade meatloaf is tender, flavorful, and topped with a sweet and tangy glaze made from ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Made with ground beef, onions, bell peppers, and oatmeal, this comforting meatloaf recipe is perfect for a hearty family dinner.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs Ground Beef
- 1 Medium Onion
- 1 Medium Carrot, Shredded
- 1 Small Bell Pepper
- 1 1/2 Cup Cheese
- 1 Cup Quick Oats
- 2/3 Cup Milk Dairy or Non-Dairy
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
For the Glaze
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup
- 1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 2 TBSP Yellow Mustard
Instructions
- Dice the onion and the bell pepper, Shred the Carrot and the Cheese. Preheat oven to 350°
- In your large mixing bowl combine the quick oats, milk, salt, pepper, and eggs.
- Add in the remaining ingredients (onion, bell pepper, carrot, cheese, and ground beef). Mix well.
- Transfer beef mixture to a 9 x 13 baking dish and shape into a loaf. Once meatloaf is shaped place in the oven to bake. for 1 hour and 15 min.
- While the meatloaf is in the oven make the glaze by combining the ketchup, packed brown sugar, and yellow mustard in a bowl.
- Once the meatloaf is finished, remove from oven and drain fat. Spread the glaze over the loaf and bake for another 15 mins.
- Once the meatloaf is done cut and serve with your favorite side and enjoy!
