Homemade Peanut Butter Almond Granola, need I say more? It’s a known fact that I absolutely love peanut butter. It’s a staple in my house and something I always keep stocked in the pantry. Peanut butter isn’t just for sandwiches either—it makes some pretty amazing treats. From peanut butter cookies to my Peanut Butter M&M Balls, I can never seem to get enough of that rich, nutty flavor.

Today, though, we’re talking about one of my favorite ways to enjoy peanut butter: Homemade Peanut Butter Almond Granola.

This easy granola recipe uses just 7 simple ingredients that you probably already have sitting in your pantry. That’s one of the reasons I make it so often. There are no fancy ingredients and no complicated steps. Just wholesome ingredients mixed together to create a crunchy, golden granola that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or even dessert.

As I mentioned earlier, I love peanut butter. So if you notice that this recipe is packed with peanut butter flavor, now you know why!

Ingredients

This homemade peanut butter almond granola comes together with just a handful of pantry staples.

What you’ll need for this recipe:

  • Peanut Butter: I prefer crunchy peanut butter for extra texture.
  • Honey
  • Coconut Oil
  • Vanilla
  • Salt
  • Rolled Oats
  • Sliced Almonds

Each ingredient plays an important role. The oats create the hearty base, the sliced almonds add crunch, and the peanut butter mixture coats everything with delicious flavor. Honey helps sweeten the granola naturally while also helping those crunchy clusters form during baking.

Why You’ll Love This Homemade Peanut Butter Almond Granola

There are so many reasons this recipe has become a favorite in my house.

First, it’s incredibly easy to make. Everything comes together in one bowl and one saucepan. Second, it’s budget-friendly because it uses ingredients many families already have on hand. And finally, it’s versatile. You can enjoy it for breakfast, pack it in lunches, or grab a handful whenever you need a quick snack.

I also love knowing exactly what’s in my granola. Store-bought granola can sometimes be loaded with extra sugars and ingredients I can’t pronounce. Making homemade granola allows you to control the ingredients and customize it to your family’s tastes.

How to Make Homemade Peanut Butter Almond Granola

Granola is surprisingly simple to make.

Start by combining your rolled oats, and sliced almonds in a large bowl. I like using a massive stainless steel mixing bowl that I found at a kitchen supply store. It gives me plenty of room to stir without making a huge mess. It was honestly a game changer in my kitchen.

Don’t have a giant bowl? No problem! Just use the largest mixing bowl you have available.

Next, grab a medium saucepan and make what I like to call the “magic sauce.” Combine the peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, vanilla, salt and heat until everything is melted and smooth. The aroma alone is enough to make you want to grab a spoon and dig in.

Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the oat mixture and start stirring. Then keep stirring. And stirring some more! You want every oat and almond coated in that delicious peanut butter mixture.

Spread the granola onto a baking sheet and bake until it’s golden brown and crispy. Your kitchen will smell absolutely amazing while it’s baking.

Once finished, you can enjoy it warm from the pan or allow it to cool completely. As it cools, the granola becomes even crunchier. Store it in an airtight container and enjoy throughout the week.

Favorite Ways to Eat Granola

One of the best things about homemade peanut butter granola is how many different ways you can enjoy it.

Here are a few favorites:

  • Yogurt parfaits with fresh berries and vanilla yogurt
  • By the handful for a quick snack
  • Served with milk like cereal
  • Sprinkled over ice cream
  • Added to smoothie bowls
  • Mixed into trail mix
  • Topped on peanut butter banana slices

Tips for the Best Homemade Granola

  • Use rolled oats instead of quick oats for the best texture.
  • Don’t overbake. Granola continues to crisp up as it cools.
  • Let it cool completely before storing.
  • For extra peanut butter flavor, drizzle melted peanut butter over the cooled granola.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.

Whether you’re looking for an easy breakfast option, an afternoon snack, or a simple homemade gift, this Homemade Peanut Butter Almond Granola is a recipe worth keeping. With simple ingredients, plenty of peanut butter flavor, and the perfect crunch, it’s a delicious addition to any pantry.

How to Store Homemade Peanut Butter Granola

One of the best things about this homemade peanut butter granola is that it stores beautifully, making it perfect for meal prep and quick breakfasts throughout the week.

After the granola has finished baking, allow it to cool completely on the baking sheet. This is an important step because the granola continues to crisp up as it cools. Storing it while it’s still warm can trap moisture and cause it to lose some of that delicious crunch.

Once completely cooled, transfer the granola to an airtight container. I like to store mine in an 18-cup Rubbermaid container, which holds most of the batch perfectly and keeps it fresh and crunchy. If I have any extra, I just use a smaller container for the rest. Store the containers at room temperature in a cool, dry place.

When properly stored, homemade peanut butter granola can stay fresh for up to 2 weeks, although it rarely lasts that long in my house! It’s so easy to grab a handful for a snack or sprinkle over yogurt that it disappears pretty quickly.
